Cara & chris are my kind of couple. They are both outdoorsy, fun loving and like a good adventure. Cara was referred to me by a great friend, and I knew just when hearing a little about them, we were all going to get along just fine!! We talked and they soon booked me for their engagement and wedding photos. I was so excited to meet them and their awesome rescue dog Tilly. We agreed that Camp Milton on the outskirts of Jacksonville would be a great backdrop for their engagement session, and they could bring Tilly (of course).
Cara was worried they were going to be awkward and "weird" in their photos. She was wrong. They ROCKED their entire engagement session from start to finish!
I always ask my clients to bring something personal that helps tell their story. It can be jewellery, a piece of clothing, a book, ANYTHING that helps display your personality. Cara and Chris brought hats for the entire FAMILY. Thats right, Tilly even got in on the action!
Alright lets get to the wedding day!! Cara and Chris picked a venue that was perfect for them! Walkers Landing at Amelia Island Plantation is a beautiful resort that sits right on the coast and is surrounded by oak trees covered in spanish moss. There are multiple locations to have your wedding ceremony, Cara & Chris chose to have theirs on the deck overlooking the marsh at sunset. It was stunning and absolutely perfect out that day. We orchestrated a first look at Fort Clinch State Park with just the couple and the wedding party, and it was such a great experience to be a part of such a special moment.
Walkers Landing in Amelia Island was a perfect spot for the ceremony and reception. Getting married under a large tree overlooking the sunsetting on the marsh was breathtaking. There wasn't a dry eye in the house during the ceremony, as Chris's mom remembered his dad who had passed. Their vows were very personal, and true to them, funny. I am positive I heard something about laying on the couch watching HGTV together. Surrounded by friends and family they partied and danced the night away. Cara & Chris had a great wedding, and I am so lucky I was able to capture their day!!
