First off let me start the post with a question for the smart people of the interweb (that's you). How do you spell doughnut?
Donut or doughnut?
A little background into why we are having this conversation. I am a terrible speller. Though I love to read, and English was always my favorite class, I cant spell to save my life. It has always been a joke in the family and I am constantly asking my husband "how do you spell __?". Which brings me to sitting down today and googling "donut" and reading the history of the word. (I won't bore you with the details, click here and read it for yourself.) I will say a big northern chain has something to do with it, and both are used in writing. I will be using doughnut, but I am really okay with both, I love all doughnuts!
Okay enough about spelling and things, let me introduce you to Carter. Her Mom and I met right when I moved to Jacksonville Fl and we became great friends. I have been using her to practice my photography skills on ever since. When she got married, she was the very first wedding I ever captured. We are pretty much family. Carter's big sister and I are best buds, so of course when she came around, we hit it off pretty well too. I have watched her grow from day one and she has turned into this curly haired, chunky, big eyed little tot with a mind of her own. Carter had her first birthday coming up and I had an idea.
Ya'll. To say it was a hit was an understatement. The size of the doughnut was perfect for her little hands and made for some great images. Happy First Birthday Carter!!
We had an absolute blast. The doughnuts were a huge hit for this little lady. The pink and gold was perfect and that crown... She sure rocked it! I cant wait to shoot more of these in the future! I have an idea for a little boy and some doughnuts... Who as an almost one year old little man?
